I live in Birmingham, Michigan, with my husband Kyle, our son Nathan and our daughter Evelyn. The blog is named for our late dog Pete, a Rhodesian Ridgeback who died in 2014. Late in 2015, we returned to the US after living five years overseas (Seoul, South Korea and Königstein im Taunus, Germany).

Pearly Whites

Teeth--two front, two bottom and now a fifth tooth. I can feel and see a sixth, but it's not through just yet!

Spring In My Step

Our new helper Jane started today.  This means I can walk the mountain during nap time again! Pete was excited--at first.  I practically had to drag him home.  I hope this is more because he hasn't been on the mountain in a while (I confess I only walk him a quick lap around the 'hood (if at all) on the days I am in the pool or gym) and less because he is nine years old.  It was such a beautiful walk on a perfect morning.

Finally, a little slope down
I tried to show Pete all the dogs who envied him--He was unimpressed
I am always nervous this pup is going to jump

Sunday Send Off

Before we sent Kyle off on his trip, we enjoyed a little walk and tasty brunch.  A nice Sunday, indeed.

No time to pose for homework--must look around!

Odds and Ends

Our helper Lynn has been with us since we moved to Korea.  Friday was her last day.  She cried a few weeks ago when she told me she was leaving, "I have known Nathan since his birth and I will miss him..."  She cried again when she hugged him goodbye and told him to "Grow up to be a strong and nice man."  Awww.
Kyle has been a very good sport about the practice that results from photography class.

Do you see me?

And lest we forget flower class...orchids and cherry blossoms and ranunculus, oh my! So pretty.

Tomorrow afternoon Kyle leaves for Vietnam until Wednesday, so it will be just Natey Wi and me!
Saturday morning retail therapy for Nathan.  Argyle onesie? Yes, please!

Welcome, Spring!

Back in Michigan last week, most of my family celebrated two things--Tiger's Opening Day and the Cottage Opening:
Bupp Girls
Beepa's Father's Day tickets from Kyle and me
White Cottage happy hour!
Here in Seoul, signs of spring are everywhere! Yahoo!  We spent part of the weekend at the opening of my very first art exhibit.  Every year, my teacher organizes an exhibition of her students' work.
On our way to get our hair did before the reception
Reception
My three pieces are on the right hand side (Cottage, Nathan and a lillypad)
I was nominated by my class to introduce everyone and their work at the reception. Only about eight attendees spoke and understood English.
My favorite work of art. Ever.

PS--Happy birthday to my sister Jess!

Full Mewn

Sage used to pronounce moon like mewn. Such a cutie.  I love a good mewn.  Kyle and I got married by the light of an almost full moon.  Awww.

I, of course, didn't do it justice. But it's a better photo than I would have taken a day ago.  I am only one episode into my photography class: Goodbye automatic mode; Hello, histogram and exposure compensation!  I have high hopes for the next full mewn.
