Well, hi there! I've so much to tell you. But first, let's close the last chapter:
So, not to toot our own horns, but I am really proud of us for making a go of it, one adventure after the next. I look back and feel so thankful and so lucky.
When we said yes to Korea, a big part of me held my breath when we boarded that plane two days after our wedding. A much smaller part of me was still holding that breath when we moved to Germany. As we touched down in the USA on June 8, I realized that, still, the tiniest part of me was still holding that breath, and I exhaled.
We wore hanbok and dirndl (hard to pull off with boobs, PS). We ate kimchi and schnitzel. We raised a glass of soju saying Gan Bae and a glass of hefeweizen saying Prost. We had a keun agi deul (large baby son) and eine totter (a daughter). We crossed the DMZ and the Berlin Wall. We learned and grew and never gave up and had more fun than people should be allowed to have.
Landing on that runway in Detroit was my finish line for a race I never even knew I was running. It's so hard to describe, but for me this comes close:
And, you know what's funny/crazy? I would do it all over again!
