I live in Birmingham, Michigan, with my husband Kyle, our son Nathan and our daughter Evelyn. The blog is named for our late dog Pete, a Rhodesian Ridgeback who died in 2014. Late in 2015, we returned to the US after living five years overseas (Seoul, South Korea and Königstein im Taunus, Germany).

Knee High By The Fourth of July

Ever heard that phrase? It's about corn on the cob, my mother's favorite summertime meal (yes, she makes a meal out of it). Apparently, the properly growing corn stalk will be "knee high by the fourth of July," and ready to be enjoyed late in the month.

Anyway, we coasted through the end of June and the 4th of July weekend with a watchful eye on the corn, and here's how we kept ourselves busy, happy and distracted from missing Daddy/Kyle...

Beepa commissioned a deck...
...and a pole barn
Gram gave a June 30 deadline for both projects--whew, just made it!
Matt loves to help with Beepa projects!
Time to see how we've grown
What's the verdict?
